Trump Praises Putin's Ukraine Invasion & Says It Might be a Good Model for Our Southern Border

Former President Donald Trump's weird and sickening love of dictators and tyrants manifested itself again yesterday in praise for Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Trump labeled Vladimir Putin's invasion “genius” on Buck Sexton’s podcast and then, for good measure, seemed to suggest that we invade northern Mexico.
Trump: “I said, ‘How smart is that?’ And he’s gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That’s the strongest peace force… We could use that on our southern border. That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen. There were more army tanks than I’ve ever seen. They’re gonna keep peace all right. No, but think of it. Here’s a guy who’s very savvy.”
..... “But here’s a guy that says, you know, ‘I’m gonna declare a big portion of Ukraine independent,’ he used the word ‘independent’ and ‘we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.’ You gotta say that’s pretty savvy." ...
Republican Rep. Liz Cheney captured the utter insanity of Trump's fanboy comments later in the day on Twitter.
Cheney: “Former President Trump’s adulation of Putin today — including calling him a ‘genius’ — aids our enemies. Trump’s interests don’t seem to align with the interests of the United States of America.”
Trump has a long history of praising authoritarian rulers, even those that have imprisoned or killed political opponents and journalists.
