Poll: Large Majority Believe Trump Acted Irresponsibly & Few Approve of His Handling of the Pandemic
A new ABC News/Ipsos poll taken after the President's positive Covid test result found that 72% of Americans think that Donald Trump has been too cavalier and not taken the risks associated with the Covid-19 pandemic seriously enough. An equal share don't believe he took appropriate precautions regarding his own health.
Only about a third approve of Trump's overall handling of the coronavirus crisis. That has been fairly constant for several months and shows that there are grave concerns about the President's performance during the pandemic, even among his supporters.
The poll also found that the President's infection seems to have increased the public's apprehension regarding their own health. 81% are either very or somewhat concerned about contracting COVID-19, compared to 72% two weeks ago in a similar poll by Ipsos.
