Oregon Republicans Nominate Follower of Wacky Internet Conspiracy Group QAnon for US Senate Seat

Demonstrating how far the GOP has sunk into the morass of internet hoaxes, Oregon Republicans nominated Jo Rae Perkins (R) for the U.S. Senate race, a candidate who follows QAnon, a wacky right-wing conspiracy theory involving the "deep state," cannibals and child sex rings.
AP: "QAnon is a right-wing conspiracy theory centered on the baseless belief that Trump is waging a secret campaign against enemies in the “deep state” and a child sex trafficking ring run by satanic pedophiles and cannibals."
In a video posted on Twitter on Tuesday night, Perkins declared her support for QAnon saying, “Where we go one, we go all. I stand with President Trump. I stand with Q and the team. Thank you Anons, and thank you patriots. And together, we can save our republic.”
Just when you think that the Republican Party can't sink any deeper into the muck, they surprise you. Luckily, Ms. Perkins has very little chance of defeating Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley in November.
