Obama's Fitting Description of Trump Will Echo Through History
Former President Obama's impassioned speech last night at the Democratic National Convention will be remembered for generations. He was inspiring when talking about the vision that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have for America, but he also warned of the consequences of a second term for Donald Trump. And, in one short passage he defined Trump for the ages.
New York Times [Obama address]: "He [Trump] has shown no interest in putting in the work. No interest in finding common ground. No interest in using the awesome power of his office to help anyone but himself and his friends. No interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves."
I suspect that many future historians will reach for this passage when attempting to succinctly define Trump's legacy as President.
