National Geographic Celebrated Its 125th Anniversary With a Fabulous Collection of Photographs
National Geographic started publishing in 1888, more than 130 years ago. Over the years, they collected tens of thousands of photographs that never ended up in the magazine. In 2013, to honor their 125th anniversary, National Geographic created Found, a curated collection of photography from their massive archives. Many of the photos had never been published before.
In reviewing the site, it looks like they may have completed their "Found" collection in 2016. It includes hundreds of photos from around the world, across more than a century. Its a joy to explore...and addictive, so set some time aside. Once you start, its difficult to pull yourself away.
