Michelle Obama is Now the Most Admired Woman in the World

Michelle Obama bumped actress and activist Angelina Jolie from the top spot in YouGov's annual "World's Most Admired" survey. Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Jolie took the top three spots on the women's side. Chinese singer Peng Liyuan, who is the wife of that nation's president, Xi Jinping, joined the list for the first time at number seven.
Bill Gates is the most admired man again this year, just edging out President Barack Obama. Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan both saw their rankings increase substantially.
The poll has an unusually large sample size to capture opinions across the globe. YouGov interviewed 42,000 people in 41 nations to compile their list.
The polling firm also provided results for the "Most Admired" within each of the 41 nations polled. Their results page allows you to look at the results for each country. Biochemist Aziz Sancar and Angelina Jolie are the most respected man and woman in Turkey.
In America, Barack Obama tops Donald Trump by a wide margin and Michelle Obama and Ruth Bader Ginsburg come in one and two among admired women. Pakistani activist for women's education and the youngest Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai breaks the top ten among admired women.
