GOP Reps Gosar and Greene form "Stupid White Folks" Caucus in the House of Representatives

Several House Republicans, led by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Paul Gosar of Arizona, have formed the "America First Caucus" created to support a "common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions;" in other words, white Christian America. They are getting dangerously close to giving the game away and just admitting that Trump's America First was always code for White Supremacy.

You can read the group's policy platform here. It's hilarious! The section on election fraud must have been penned by Rudi Giuliani during a fever dream.

America First Policy Statement: "Recent election results demonstrate a compromised integrity of our elections and made our election system a subject of global mockery. Across the country federal elections have been undermined by using voting machines that are readily compromised and illegally accessed whereby results appear manipulated, voters are disenfranchised, and faith in our system eroded." ...

And, it's delightfully full of easily disproved factual errors. The section on the Covid pandemic contains about every anti-Fauci conspiracy theory, and in opposing legal immigration they say this:

America First Policy Statement: "An important distinction between post-1965 immigrants and previous waves of settlers is that previous cohorts were more educated, earned higher wages, and did not have an expansive welfare state to fall back on when they could not make it in America and thus did not stay in the country at the expense of the native-born."

What a bunch of moronic blather. The "cohorts" of Irish, Eastern European, and Italian immigrants of the late 19th and early 20th century were far less educated [if at all] and poorly paid. Moreover, our current welfare state is far from expansive and immigrants use it substantially less than native born Americans. Their point seems to be that immigrants come to America today in order to collect welfare checks and watch Netflix. That is racist nonsense, and easy to disprove.

Even House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was a bit annoyed by Gosar's and Greene's shenanigans saying yesterday that the GOP is not the party of "nativist dog whistles." Really?

Of course, McCarthy might just be unhappy that the "America First" folks were a bit too open about the whole "Anglo-Saxon" thing.
