FBI Director & Former Pence Aide Expose Trump's Lies & Misdeeds

As we have noted before, some Trump supporters will stick with him no matter how high the mountain of evidence of his misconduct, lies and incompetence, but the mountain keeps growing, nonetheless. And, news organizations don't have to depend on anonymous sources to provide us with information on the inner workings of the White House because current and former Trump officials seem quite willing to share their experiences in books, interviews and congressional hearings. Each day provides us with new stories of misconduct, deceit and self-dealing.
For instance, yesterday we learned from FBI Director Christopher A. Wray that the reason that the administration is down-playing the growing threat posed by Russia in the upcoming election is because Vladimir Putin seems intent on helping Trump win reelection.
Washington Post: "FBI Director Christopher A. Wray told Congress on Thursday that Russia is still working to influence the U.S. presidential election, and hoping to “denigrate” former vice president Joe Biden because it sees the Democratic nominee as part of an American policy establishment antagonistic toward Moscow’s interests."
Putin supports Trump because he knows that Joe Biden would move quickly to counter Russian aggression in Eastern Europe, interference in US politics and the Russian oligarch's penchant for poisoning his political rivals. Trump, however, would prefer that voters don't see him as Putin's man in Washington which explains why his national intelligence director, John Ratcliffe wanted to end his regular in-person briefings on foreign election interference. Ratcliffe and Trump want to keep Russian meddling out of the headlines until November 3rd.
Wray also burst Trump's "antifa" bubble, explaining that it's "not a group or an organization — it’s a movement or an ideology.” Wray is correct; as we noted in a prior article, it's an anti-fascist philosophy opposing the rise of white nationalism in America, not some reincarnation of the "Black Panthers," as the President often portrays it to his supporters.
Also, yesterday, a former aide and advisor to VP Mike Pence on the pandemic, Olivia Troye, explained that she will vote for Joe Biden in November because of Donald Trump's mishandling of the Covid-19 crisis and his disregard for American lives.
Washington Post, Troye: "President Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic showed a “flat-out disregard for human life” because his “main concern was the economy and his reelection,” according to a senior adviser on the White House coronavirus task force who left the White House in August." "Olivia Troye, who worked as homeland security, counterterrorism and coronavirus adviser to Vice President Pence for two years, said that the administration’s response cost lives and that she will vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden this fall because of her experience in the Trump White House."
“The president’s rhetoric and his own attacks against people in his administration trying to do the work, as well as the promulgation of false narratives and incorrect information of the virus have made this ongoing response a failure.”
Troye had regular access to the administration's thinking about how to address the crisis and she is telling us that Trump and his staff were more concerned with the President's image and his reelection than American lives.
