Election Update: Networks are Giving Trump Time to Process His Defeat & Concede Gracefully

Joe Biden's popular vote and electoral college victory is assured, and growing by the hour, and the vast majority of Americans understand that, even Trump's supporters. However, the networks have hesitated to call the race in order to give Donald Trump some extra time to process his rejection and, hopefully, concede gracefully. Trump's concession would ease the transition and enhance the nation's healing process.
The first problem with such thinking is that Donald Trump has the emotional maturity of a five-year-old; he's not going to process his loss like an adult and put aside his injured pride.
Moreover, the President and many of his hardcore supporters don't give a damn about a smooth transition and they have no interest in "healing" divides in the nation. Like Mitch McConnell, their only concern, their focus, will be on preventing America from tackling the virus, racial injustice, environmental issues, and the economic downturn. They will not cooperate with Biden's efforts to turn things around.
Joe Biden's speech to the nation last night was Presidential, gracious in victory, but he shouldn't expect his magnanimity to be reciprocated. There will be no "honeymoon" period for President Biden, and Donald Trump and Trumpism will be with us for quite some time to come.
