Democrats Don't Seem Terribly Interested in a Bloomberg Candidacy

The first Democratic preference poll [A Morning Consult Poll] that includes Michael Bloomberg was released Sunday and he garnered just 4% of the vote, in the second tier of candidates with Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar, among others. And he had the largest unfavorable rating with nearly 25 percent of likely primary voters viewing the former New York mayor negatively. Among all Democratic candidates he came in 6th with Joe Biden in first place with 31%.

Of course, once he unleashes his substantial assets on advertising, he might attract greater support, but that hasn't helped fellow billionaire Tom Steyer very much.

On a positive note, Bloomberg did beat Donald Trump in a hypothetical match-up 43 to 37%, but, then again, so did the Democratic front-runners.

Mayor Bloomberg should consider spending his money on supporting the eventual nominee, or, as others have suggested, buying Fox News and tuning it into an actual news organization.
