Trump's Approval Rating Continues to Slide After Mueller Report
Voters either don't buy into the President's claim that the Mueller report exonerated him or they are finally just getting tired of his antics. Two recent polls show his approval rating hitting rock bottom, possibly indicating that his political base is starting to deteriorate a bit.
A Reuters/Ipsos public opinion poll has Trump's approval rating at 37%, his lowest of 2019. And, the latest Morning Consult/Politico weekly tracking poll found the President's approval rating reached the lowest point of his presidency with 39% approving and 57% disapproving of his performance in office.
It's too early to tell if the President's slump indicates a real weakening of his position with his political base, however. His support has averaged in the low to mid 40s throughout his Presidency. A consistent slide to the high 30s would indicate that his reelection was unlikely.
