Wonderful New Sara Bareilles Album is a Rallying Cry to Reject Trumpism
Sara Bareilles is getting political on her new album “Amidst the Chaos”, produced by T Bone Burnett. She has never sounded better.
ABC News: "Her new album, Amidst the Chaos, was born out of feelings about the state of the world today. It features “A Safe Place to Land,” a duet with her Jesus Christ Superstar co-star John Legend about family separation at the southern border, and “If I Can’t Have You,” a song that sounds like she’s pining for a lost love but is actually about… missing the Obamas."
LA Times: "And it finds Bareilles, 39, taking up heavier themes than she has in the past, including her experience with depression and her deep misgivings about President Trump’s leadership."
"In an interview the day before the Troubadour gig, the singer identified the Women’s March in 2017 as a “pivotal moment” that led to a “personal awakening."
”“It made me realize that my job — my calling as an artist — is to talk about this stuff,” she said at the renowned Village recording studio in West Los Angeles, where she made “Amidst the Chaos” under the same roof that once housed the likes of Bob Dylan and Fleetwood Mac."
Our favorite cut is "Fire"...enjoy!
