Trump Moves Sixth Fleet to the Rio Grande Warning That the Immigrant Caravan May Include George Soro
There simply is no way to write a serious piece about President Trump's decision to send 15,000 military personnel to the border to await the few families that finish their heartbreaking trek from Honduras some time in the next month or two. It's difficult to believe that even his base takes him seriously at this point. But fear is all the President has left to get his supporters to the polls next Tuesday.
Republican Senator Bob Corker, Nashville Tennessean: "Let's face it," said Corker to reporters in Nashville. "We all know what's happening. It's all about revving up the base, using fear to stimulate people to come out at the polls."
Sadly, Trump is using the US military as a set-piece in his shameful election-eve melodrama. But, some Veterans are pushing back, including former Marine Will Fisher who works for VoteVets.
CNN: "Donald Trump thinks unarmed people who are fleeing horrors and are still 1,000 miles away are a national security threat a week before election day," Fischer said. "I don't think so. It's a political ploy to blow upon the embers of racism and nativism, and he is using the military again as a political prop to advance his own agenda"
If Trump will sink this low for the midterms, just imagine what's in store for America as we approach 2020.
