Even Fox News Mocks Trump's Plan to Send 5000 Troops to the Border

Every so often Fox news anchor Shep Smith gets fed-up with the party line at Fox and yesterday he lashed out at President Trump's election week decision to send 5000 more troops to our southern border to await the "caravan". He noted that it was a nakedly political stunt to sow fear and that it would be weeks or months before any of the refugees arrive at our border.

The Hill: "Tomorrow the migrants, according to Fox News reporting, are more than two months away, if any of them actually come here," Smith said on air."

"But tomorrow is one week before the midterm election, which is what all of this is about," he added. "There is no invasion. No one’s coming to get you. There’s nothing at all to worry about."

Smith reminded his viewers that the last "caravan" mostly dissipated far from our border with a few arrests and some refugee status requests.

The Hill: "When they did this to us, got us all riled up in April, remember?" Smith said. "The result was 14 arrests. We’re America, we can handle it. But like I said, a week to the election."

President Trump has no positive campaign strategy to deploy prior to the midterms, so he has gone back to his 2016 playbook. Shame on Americans who buy into it.
