Trump and Those Crazy Bumper Stickers

The Mad MAGA Bomber seems to have been caught, Mr. Cesar Sayoc Jr. of Aventura, FL. Absolutely no one is surprised that he was driving a portable conspiracy theory bulletin board. Its not unusual to see such nonsense on cars and pick-up trucks these days, but, admittedly, Mr Sayoc seems to have gone a bit overboard. And "Top Youth Soccer Recruits For Trump" is a bit ominous. I hope that wasn't on their uniforms.

President Trump says that he there isn't a connection between his hateful rants, lies and conspiracy theories and Mr. Sayoc's actions. Perhaps someone should show him pictures of the bomber's van. It is as if Sayoc was making the President crib notes for his next speech. What the President doesn't understand, or doesn't want to acknowledge, is that some of his supporters, weaned on talk radio and Fox news, actually believe his tripe about the media, Hillary and the "deep state". Clearly, Mr. Sayoc did.

But, no, President Trump won't take responsibility and just continues to feed the fire.

Brian Stelter, CNN, Reliable Sources: "In the afternoon and evening, Trump talked about unity, but kept sowing division. In a Q&A with reporters, he was asked if he'd pledge "to tone down the rhetoric for the next few days," and he said "I think I've been toned down, if you want to know the truth. I could really tone it up because as you know the media's been extremely unfair to me and to the Republican Party." At the Charlotte rally, he encouraged "civility," but quickly shifted to media-bashing mode, cueing his fans to boo and chant "CNN SUCKS!"

The President won't change unless Americans send him an unambiguous message that they have had enough. And Robert De Niro is right, "there's something more powerful than bombs, and that's your vote". November 6th!
