Voting in the 2018 Midterm Election Has Already Begun in Some States
We tend to focus on election day, November the 6th, but because of early voting in some states, ballots are already being cast in the 2018 midterm election. Minnesota and South Dakota began early voting yesterday and several other states will begin in the next few weeks.
AP: "Much of the political world is consumed with a battle over a Supreme Court nominee, an expanding international trade war and President Donald Trump’s social media posts. Yet in Minnesota, the first votes of the 2018 midterm elections are being cast."
"South Dakota also opens early voting on Friday [yesterday], and four more states follow in the next six days, including key states including New Jersey and Missouri. California, Montana and Arizona are among seven others that allow early voting in the subsequent two weeks."
The battle to control congress has begun and it has rarely seemed so important. Yesterday, President Trump said the election will represent an appraisal of his presidency. Many Democrats would agree with that.
