Fox News Host Tries Out New Trump Defense; He's Been "Framed"
Fox News host Jeanine Pirro is trying out a new Trump defense today saying that the President is being "framed" by the deep state. This is how Pirro put it:
The Hill: “I’ve been in law-enforcement for over three decades. This guy was framed," Pirro continued. "The crisscrossing and the incestuous nature of our government in an attempt to prevent the outsider president that we wanted from getting elected is frightening.”
This is a bit ludicrous, even for Fox News, but it's aimed at the hard-core Trump supporters who need some reason to remain loyal. And as the indictments and convictions pile up among the President's closest advisers, expect Trump and his defenders to build a counter-narrative painting the President as the victim of a cabal involving the media, establishment Republicans, Robert Mueller, the FBI and intelligence officials. It will be their last line of defense to prevent the "base" from abandoning Trump.
