A Record Number of Americans Now Accept Climate Change
There is some good news regarding climate change awareness in the United States. This year's "National Surveys on Energy and the Environment" conducted by the University of Michigan and Muhlenberg College found that 73% of Americans now accept that there is solid evidence of global warming, although there is still a wide gulf based on political affiliation with 90% of Democrats holding that view compared to 50% of Republicans. And a record 60% of us now understand that humans are at least partially responsible for the rising temperatures. Those totals are still lower than in most developed countries but they are trending in the right direction.
