Margie Lawrence has been a baseball fan as long as she can remember. Maybe we should first say a CUBS fan. And why not? She went to primary school right across the street from Wrigley field. She doesn't remember any foul balls penetrating the class window, but Cubs fever certainly penetrated her soul. What's even more significant is that after decades in the theater, Margie suddenly made a radical shift in her creative output, channeling her baseball passion into creating portraits of many of its heroes.
