Republican Majority Leader Admits there Was Nothing New in Today's Secret Briefing on the Russia
The headline to this story could simply be, "Trump Lies About FBI Spying on His Campaign." The President's accusations are simply a ploy to create doubt about the FBI probe and Robert Mueller's investigation.
In response to today's briefing:
From Domenico Montanaro, NPR: [Republican] Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told NPR in an interview that he continues to support the Mueller Russia investigation — and that nothing in Thursday's hotly anticipated secret briefing on the Russia probe to congressional leaders changed his mind.
From Axios: Sen. Chuck Schumer, Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Mark Warner released a statement along with Rep. Schiff, saying, "Nothing we heard today has changed our view that there is no evidence to support any allegation that the FBI or any intelligence agency placed a ‘spy’ in the Trump Campaign, or otherwise failed to follow appropriate procedures and protocols."
Of course, that is not what folks will hear when they tune into the Hannity show on Fox tonight.
