Fox's Military Analyst Thomas McInerney is Reprehensible; John McCain, the Nation Apologizes
On Thursday, former Fox News military analyst Thomas McInerney condemned Sen. John McCain's refusal to support President Trump's CIA director nominee Gina Haspel. In doing so he embarrassed both himself and Fox News.
Fox Business host Charles Payne asked McInerney about McCain's stand on Haspel and torture generally.
According to The Hill: McInerney responded by saying, "The fact is, is John McCain, it worked on John. That's why they call him 'Songbird John,'"
McCain, who was a POW, was forced to falsely confess to crimes after being tortured for multiple days and having his ribs broken in a North Vietnamese prison during the Vietnam War. Claims about McCain being a traitor have been widely debunked.
Fox host, Charles Payne apologized later in the afternoon for not challenging Mclnerney's comment.
