Quick Hits Thursday: Kayne Needs Help, Dylan's Whiskey, Scott Pruitt's Religion, Trump's
Stormy Payments: As mentioned here yesterday, Trump's hush money payments [that he now admits] may have been illegal, and not just a technical violation of campaign finance laws. RICHARD L. HASEN has the story here.
Kayne West may need an intervention. Yesterday on TMZ he observed that slavery may have been a "choice", saying "When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years, that sounds like a choice." The responses were, as you might expect, quick and cutting. Is it possible that Kayne is trying to make Trump sound sane in comparison?
Bob Dylan has entered into a partnership with a whiskey distiller in Nashville to create Heaven's Door Whiskey. Cool website!
Scott Pruitt seems to think that destroying the environment is part of God's plan. He recently told the Christian Broadcasting Network that he believes God blessed humanity with natural resources like coal and oil so that people may use them."The biblical world view with respect to these issues," he said, "is that we have a responsibility to manage and cultivate, harvest the natural resources that we've been blessed with to truly bless our fellow mankind."
NPR has an in depth piece on Pruitt's religious views and how they inform his policies here. Its very possible that you will need a stiff drink after reading this, possibly two.
