Fabulous Boots, Interesting Pants

In perusing The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Fashion Collection I came upon these boots by Maniatis Bottie of Paris from the early 20th Century. Maniatis, who was Greek provided shoes to notables such as Cary Grant from his Paris shop. In the Met's description they suggest..."his location, near the Pigalle red-light district, perhaps helps to explain the design of these boots." Whatever, I think they are fabulous!

These pants from 1793 are interesting as well. Who needs zippers when you have this wonderful flap thing.
