Trump's Former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn Seems to Endorse the Crazy QAnon Cult in Video
Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn tweeted out a a video on the 4th in which he appears to administer an oath of allegiance to the QAnon [Q] cult to a group of family and friends. The oath ends with QAnon's well known slogan, "where we go one, we go all." Judging by the comments, Flynn's Q-loving followers seem to understand and appreciate Flynn's endorsement.
Most Americans understand that QAnon is a rather juvenile conspiracy theory concocted by teens with way too much times on their hands, but it's spreading quickly among the right-wing of the Republican party and has now been endorsed by several GOP candidates for Congress.
Flynn and these GOP candidates certainly understand that QAnon is a viral hoax, but they also realize that it reflects the anti-government, "deep-state" craziness that has enveloped segments of the Republican Party during the Trump years. They also recognize that the GOP will need Q-supporting voters this Fall.
And, while Q is still a small fringe group within the GOP's right-wing, it has been growing more quickly than anyone could have expected, and folks in Q t-shirts are now regularly showing up at Trump rallies. The President's "deep state" nonsense is like catnip to folks who live in the toxic world of conspiracy theories. So, expect much more of this drivel as we approach November.
