Donald Trump's Niece, Mary Trump Portrays Him as an Ignorant Sociopath in Her New Book

Mary Trump's new book about her uncle Donald, "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man," will be published next week. Copies were provided to the press this week and it's a scathing portrait of the President. She portrays him as a "dangerous," "ignorant," and "ruthless" "sociopath."

CNN: "Donald Trump's niece Mary Trump levels scathing criticism at the President in her forthcoming book, accusing him of being a "sociopath" and charging that Trump's "hubris and willful ignorance" dating back to his early days threatens the country."...
"Mary Trump, a licensed clinical psychologist, offers both her take on Trump's actions in the White House -- charging he's shown "a blatant display of sociopathic disregard for human life" over the coronavirus pandemic -- as well as episodes throughout Trump's business career, Trump's handling of her father's struggle with alcoholism and dysfunction and infighting within the family."...
The Guardian: "Donald Trump’s niece writes her study of his character from the perspective of a trained clinical psychologist."
“Child abuse is, in some sense, the expectation of ‘too much’ or ‘not enough’,” she writes. “Donald directly experienced the ‘not enough’ in the loss of connection to his mother at a crucial development stage."
“… Having been abandoned by his mother for at least a year, and having his father fail not only to meet his needs but to make him feel safe or loved, valued or mirrored, Donald suffered deprivations that would scar him for life."
“The personality traits that resulted – displays of narcissism, bullying, grandiosity – finally made my grandfather take notice but not in a way that ameliorated any of the horror that had come before.”
New York Times: "Mary L. Trump, President Trump’s niece, plans to publish a tell-all family memoir next week, describing how a decades long history of darkness, dysfunction and brutality turned her uncle into a reckless leader who, according to her publisher, Simon & Schuster, “now threatens the world’s health, economic security and social fabric.”

The Guardian, CNN and the Times received advanced copies of the book and published extensive excerpts yesterday. The book contains little new information about Trump's actions as President, but it may help to explain the factors that shaped such a damaged and dangerous human being.
