The Moth Radio Hour is One of Life's Most Satisfying Simple Pleasures

The Moth Radio Hour is "reality" entertainment at its finest. Its format is simple; people tell true stories about events that have taught them something about life. They are honest, inspirational, funny, raw, and wise, often all at once. Some are LOL funny, others heartbreaking.

Neil Gaiman may have captured the Moth's essence best in a piece for the Guardian:

The Guardian, Neil Gaiman: "The Moth connects us because we all have stories. And the gulf that exists between us is that when we look at each other we might see faces, skin colour, gender, race or attitudes, but we don't see the stories. And once we hear them we realise that the things dividing us are often illusions, falsehoods: that the walls between us are no thicker than scenery."

The Moth was founded in 1997 by the writer George Dawes Green, who wanted to recreate the kind of storytelling that he remembered from his friend Wanda's back porch on long summer nights in Georgia. He succeeded, probably far beyond his dreams. The Moth is now on 470 radio stations and is heard around the globe.

The Moth Radio Hour's website has a tool to find a radio station near you, You can also listen to podcasts of earlier shows via their website.
