What's at Stake in November, VP Pence Promises New Attack on the ACA if Republicans Win Midterms

Republicans will not give up on repealing the Affordable Care Act [ACA, Obamacare] if they retain control of the House and Senate in November. Vice President Pence made it clear to reporters that repeal remains a Republican priority, despite the law's growing public support.

The Hill: Pence made the remarks to reporters while in Wisconsin to campaign for GOP Senate candidate Leah Vukmir, saying that if she wins, it would help Republicans with their goal of eventually repealing the health-care law.

“We made an effort to fully repeal and replace ObamaCare and we'll continue, with Leah Vukmir in the Senate, we'll continue to go back to that,” Pence told reporters.

And Republicans in the Senate are counting on another repeal vote in Arizona when Governor Doug Ducey appoints a replacement for John McCain this week.

Newsweek: Republican Senator John Thune has said that he hoped McCain’s successor would be a “strong ally” who “recognizes that Obamacare is not a proper solution.”

This fight is far from over and the health-care of tens of millions is at stake. There is literally no way to overestimate the importance of the midterm elections this Fall. Protecting the ACA is just one of the many issues that will be determined by who shows up at the polls on November 6th.
