Scotland: Not So Fast on Brexit

Theresa May has staked her political career and her Tory government on figuring out Brexit. However, UK voters are very divided on leaving the European Union, with a slight majority now opposed, and Northern Ireland and Scotland are against it. But, she plows ahead because no one can think of a way out of the results of the Brexit vote, and holding a second referendum would violate the trust of those who worked so hard in 2016.

Scotland, however, has decided to use whatever leverage it has to continue the fight, and maybe set the stage for another Scottish independence referendum. The Scottish Parliament just voted 93 to 30 that they would "not consent to the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill". The UK Parliament can ignore the vote, but that might give new life to those who desire Scotland's independence.
