"Workaway"; How to Travel the World as a Volunteer

Monday morning is probably a good time to discuss how to quit your job and travel. For many, the major impediment to a trip around the world, or traveling to the nation that you always wanted to visit is money. Workaway can help with that and its a great platform for students to find the perfect gap-year experience on a budget. They explain how it works like this:

"Generally you will be expected to volunteer around 5 hours per day in exchange for food and accommodation. Some hosts may give a paid allowance to ensure they are offering at least the minimum wage in their country. Conditions and agreements may vary depending on the skills you can offer and the requirements of each host. It is important you communicate as much as possible beforehand with your hosts so that you both know each other's expectations."

I first found the organization years ago, but the opportunities were limited. Today there are thousands of volunteer opportunities around the globe. It's relatively easy to find a situation that fits your skills and travel aspirations, no matter your age or physical limitations. Give their search engine a try and start imagining the possibilities.
